Audio driven Visual generator – jit.wavefreakout

There has been some interest in this tool that I made sometime last year, so I decided to clean up the patch a little bit and offer it for free download. It is a very basic Jitter patch, and this was very early in my jitter career, so there’s not too much to it, but it does have some controls that I have found to be useful for using this tool performatively.

This patch takes an audio signal, and graphs it based on the Framesize and downsampling knobs, it colorizes it randomly, then passes through a lumakey object then to a jit.rota, then back to the lumakey, creating a of feedback loop of sorts. The audio signal is also analyzed via the bonk~ object, just for a threshold value to trigger the rotation.  This object can also spit out frequency band intensities that could be mapped to other properties, such as color, rotation parameters or some attributes of the jit.lumakey object.

Here’s an example of this tool in action.

And here is the download link https://dl.dropbox.com/u/20787665/jit.wavefreakout.zip
